HOW TO APPLY: You can apply at https://dcaid.dca.nj.gov/en-US/dcaid-services, by calling 2-1-1 or 800-510-3102, or by contacting one of the agencies listed here.
And, starting immediately, a new law protects utilities customers (electric, gas, water, and wastewater) from having their utilities shutoff for 60 days, as long as they file an application for assistance with the state.
WHAT YOU MUST DO TO BE PROTECTED: Customers must file an application before June 15, 2022. Applications can be filed online, by telephone hotline, or with paper application, at the website, numbers, and agencies listed in HOW TO APPLY above.
